Privacy notice

What this notice covers

This notice covers HCM Opportunities, the commercial opportunities site of the Hospitality Capital Malaysia family. It is separate from the privacy policy of Hospitality Capital Malaysia's editorial site and newsletter, and the two keep their data in separate systems.

What we collect when you enquire

Your name, mobile or WhatsApp number, email address, approximate budget band, investment timeline, how you would like to be contacted and, if you give them, your preferred contact time and a message.

A record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, its version, the time, the form you used and the project you asked about.

How you reached us: campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source or utm_campaign), the page you first landed on, and the referring site's address (without its query string), for your first and most recent visit. These are kept in your browser's local storage, stored with your enquiry when you make one, and then removed from your browser. If you never enquire, they stay in your browser until you clear its site data.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for, and you should not send, identity card or passport numbers, bank details or other financial account information through this site.

Why we use it

To respond to your enquiry in the way you chose, through Appointed Property Advisory Partner, the appointed property marketing partner for the opportunity; and to understand which channels and pages lead to enquiries.

Who receives your enquiry

Appointed Property Advisory Partner, which handles the enquiry and arranges any meeting, visit or briefing you ask for. If you decide to progress towards a purchase, your details will need to be shared with the developer of that project for the booking and sale documents.

Your enquiry is not shared with Hospitality Capital Malaysia's editorial team, and it does not subscribe you to the Hospitality Capital Malaysia newsletter. Newsletter subscribers are never passed to this site.

Where it is stored

In a database operated for HCM Opportunities on Cloudflare's infrastructure, separate from the editorial site's database. Cloudflare also hosts this site.

Analytics, cookies and abuse prevention

We count anonymous interactions — for example that a page was viewed, a research link was followed or an enquiry form was started — with the page they happened on. No name, contact detail, IP address or identifier is stored with these counts.

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies and carries no advertising or retargeting pixels. To limit abuse of the forms, we keep a salted one-way hash of the connecting IP address with a counter; entries expire after 24 hours and are deleted the next time the forms are used. The IP address itself is not stored.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept while your enquiry is being handled and for a reasonable period afterwards to keep a record of what you agreed to. You can ask for them to be deleted at any time.

Your choices

You can withdraw your consent to be contacted, ask what we hold about you, or ask for your enquiry to be deleted, using the form below. Readers in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan may have additional rights under local data-protection law; we will respond to requests made under them.
